I found an interesting quote from Steven Weinberg (1933-2021), which is reproduced below. As scientists (or scholars, in general) gain prominence, it is important to stay grounded, and Weinberg expresses his opinion clearly in how he went about his business before and after his Nobel prize. Weinberg was a wonderful writer, and I often refer to him in my writings and podcasts. His recent book, Steven Weinberg: A Life in Physics looks an interesting read.
